High Security Door Handles
A new security standard for replacement cylinder locks and protective door furniture has been introduced to include tests against the increasingly popular attack method of lock-snapping. The standard, known as TS007:2012, uses a star ratings system, which awards successful euro cylinder locks either a 1-star or 3-star classification and handles a 2-star classification.
Handle manufacturers have addressed the concern and developed incredibly secure lever/lever handles that protect the euro cylinder locks. Some do this by using a solid back plate that cannot be bent or snapped to reveal the cylinder, others conceal the cylinder behind a tough cylinder guard, some such as Hoppe with their Hoppe Atlanta PAS 24 2-Star Lever Handle Set do both of these things whilst also including an unbreakable 10mm hardened steel bolt, instead of the standard 5mm.

Recommended Security
It is recommended that an external door is protected with 3-star security, which can be achieved by using a high security 3-star euro cylinder, or by combining a lower grade 1-star security cylinder with a 2-star security handle or cylinder guard.
The star rating is part of the TS007:2012 security standard which is designed to simplify the aquisition of euro cylinder and secuirty hardware that meets modern challenges.
